Interesting question.

We find Khan in both Khyber Pakhtoonkhah (Pashtoon area) and Balochs.

Shah are considered as descendants of the Prophet? There is also a confusion between Shah and Syeds? All Syeds are Shah, but all Shahs are not Syeds.

In Pakistan it seems as if shah and syed are used interchangeably.
