Kerry in Pakistan – India on the agenda

Re: Kerry in Pakistan – India on the agenda

let me remind my indian friends..modi and his govt are miscalculating their moves against pakistan ... in my humble opinion, they are ruining a golden chance to develop good relationship with pakistan.

What they dont realize that in pakistan you have a PM who legitimately want to develop good relationship with india and even indians accept that....and

and yes more importantly this is the first time in our history that we have a COAS who has publicly said many times that India is not our biggest threat and that our biggest threat is taliban...and he has shown it by actions (big operation against TTP with no difference in good or bad tliban). That is a huge policy shift in pak army's strategic mindset.

Plus Pak army is so occupied in conducting operation against TTP that they cannot even imagine opening a conflict with indians on the eastern border. These are some hard core realities that Indians need to keep in mind while discussing issues. Whil we in pak we have criticized our establishment's bad policies, it is about time indians also start thinking rationally instead of just keep on repeating same old narrative of 90s. thx

Re: Kerry in Pakistan – India on the agenda

Whatever, only Pakistan has such whimsical fantasy of 52 Indian consulates.Indians, themselves are flabbergasted at it.

Why the so-called Western alliance have not mentioned it?

:smack:

I think a `poor lad’ had had some ear drop at an Afghan’s house where a Bollywood movie was being played, and he would have mistook it for Indian Kaansulate.

Re: Kerry in Pakistan – India on the agenda

Indo-Pak relationship is very strange IMHO!

We simply do not know what we want to see this relationship become at first place.

At least are we as nations not sure if we wish to be friend or fiend? Simple Yes or No would be good beginning here.

Everytime it becomes endless squabble over who is doing what and when they get to platform to talk they hardly have anything to say because of their public opinion.

What we need is powerful leadership like Ataturk which can take right decision irrespective of public opinion at home. Our leaders and opinion makers generally arouse masses just to extend their political goals

Looks like someone is talking…not sure if he got the proof of Indian involvement in Balochistan or not though.

John Kerry tells Pakistan to quash all militant groups after school massacre | US news | The Guardian

John Kerry, the US secretary of state, has said Pakistan must fight militant groups that threaten Afghan, Indian and US interests, as he offered sympathy for the victims of last month’s mass killings at a school.
Pakistan has long been suspected by the west of playing a double game, fighting some militants while supporting those its generals have regarded as strategic assets against India and Afghanistan.
Kerry said all militant groups should be targeted to bring security to the region. “Terror groups like the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban, the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other groups continue to pose a threat to Pakistan, to its neighbours and to the United States,” he told a news conference in Islamabad, on Tuesday.
“And all of us have a responsibility to ensure that these groups do not gain a foothold but rather are pushed back into the recesses of memory … Make no mistake. The task is a difficult one and it is not done.”
Most US-led forces in Afghanistan officially completed their combat mission in December, prompting concern about the stability of the region where insurgents have been increasingly aggressive in past months.
Following the attack on the Peshawar school in which 134 children were killed, Pakistan has promised to stop differentiating between good and bad militants and to step up operations against their hideouts on the Afghan border.
Before leaving Pakistan for Geneva, where he is due to meet the Iranian foreign minister, Javad Zarif, Kerry had been expected to travel to the north-western city of Peshawar to visit the victims, but the plan was scrapped.
