Thats what we are trying to figure out, since he said that he was a POLITICAL figure .. .. I had alexandar/ghenghis in my mind but this thing struck my head. so lets see what answer does he give to the question that @Sehrysh asked.

He did conquer new territory but the majority was 'known'.

Just because he may have been a conqueror does not negate the possibility of him also being a political figure. He may have shaped empires and the succeeding nations and political systems.

I would suggest you listen to Sehrysh. Being a warrior/conqueror doesn't negate a political figure and vice versa. A political figure is any person who has influenced public decision making.

the only ppl i can think of who were conquerers who ruled parts of both europe and asia are the greeks, romans and turks. turks were relatively modern times. maybe we should ask where this guy was born - in what is now europe or what is now asia..
