If you read up about the history of Kashmir from an unbiased perspective it actually belongs to Pakistan and any Kashmiri nationalist that knows their history wouldn’t deny it, but most people are pretty ignorant about this conflict and how it all started and how the people of Poonch and Gilgit rebelled against Hari Singh to join Pakistan.
That being said I think it’s important for the people of the valley to decide for themselves, it would most likely be a tiny independent state that would be dependent on Pakistan because it wouldn’t choose to depend on India for historical reasons, so it would practically be our 5th Province even if it officially isn’t.
Ladakh is half Muslim, so half of it would also join a Free Kashmir and so would parts of Jammu cause it’s 25% Muslim, the rest of Jammu and Ladakh would stay with India.
Gilgit-Baltistan would stay with Pakistan and so would Azad Kashmir; the people of Azad Kashmir are culturally the same as people of the Potohar region in North Punjab as well as people from Hazara-Mansehra; people from across the Rawal lake aren’t different, in fact Mirpuris and people from Kotli are more similar to people from Pindi than they are to people from Srinagar; the Neelam valley in North Azad Kashmir is exactly the same in culture as the people of the Kaghan valley, they actually mirror eachother, so it doesn’t make it sense for them to join the Kashmir valley which is home to the actual Kashmiris.
Any Pahari person from AJK claiming to be “Kashmiri” is delusional; in fact there are more ethnic Kashmiris in Sialkot than in Azad Kashmir lol
