Coming from M.A. Jinnah Road, the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam is perhaps the structure that reminds the nation of its promising past and uncertain future. When the sun rises at Tibet Center in Karachi, the fog around the area is enough to make the sunshine shy.

Travelling around these places on a sunday morning, you enter in the downtown of the city - Sadar… At the cross-roads near Empress Market, all you see are the public transport buses - a junction for almost all buses from Karachi: 5, 5C, 2D, 4L, 4H, 5E… etc. etc. running on top of the islands and sidewalks threatning the life of everyone… sometimes standing infront of each other head-to-head and traffic all around them; yet still managing to get onto their ways … Only in Karachi …

You get off at this point… In an avenue, you will see **Ghaseeta Khan kaa haleem, **oncethe most famous haleem place of Karachi in yesteryears - but now is beaten by its rival Samanabad kee Mazedaar Haleem. Speaking of Samanabad, **Dastageer kee Javed Nihaari **is something worth mentioning.

Right on the main road, away from Ghaseeta Khan Haleem, is the famous Choudhry Rehmat Ali Qulfi Merchant - you buy icecream but you need to get a token first - speaking of which, it also reminds me of Student Biryaani - if you go there ever, ignore the blue light at one end to catch the flies and thousands of dead flies around it

The old city harbours the feeling of the olden days with Baghies - worth mentioning the area around **Burns Road, also must see is Fraier(sp?) Road … **

You will also find places like Khaliqdeena Hall, in which Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar fought a case against him… …

If you want some peace of mind, do visit Aaraam Baagh area and spend sometime in Jama’ Masjid of Aaraam Baagh…

And if you want some halla gulla in life, just go to Nishtar Park

AQ whats the park in front of US consulate and holiday inn, thats such a nice park.

dun remember the name... but sad is the closing of Metropole Hotel - a historic place for Pakistan Film Industry ... a unique hotel which also served as a round-about (circle) on the main road...

Oh and just before I leave...

Those Lories who make fun of the pronounciation of Karachi by some Karachities as "KiraaNchee" should first get education...

Karachi is just a name which was molded from its orginal Kolaachi - after Maai Kolaachi .... it became KolaaNchee to Kalaachi **to **Karachi... So if you see KiraaNchee *somewhere, keep the **KolaaNchee* part in mind..
