I think that was. By the end of 1997 their weekly strike calls were no more there. Musharraf also kept them out of local bodies election in 2000 but had to take them back in 2002 to continue his rule. They behaved well up to May 2007.

I think the ground realities and dimensions of the city have now changed a lot. In between, they did came with their soft image that should also be appreciated. They need to do away with leadership like Altaf Hussain. Otherwise, they got all potential and right to represent the city in a fair way.

I have immense respect for PTI workers for having the ball to stand up against these thugs. They just want their rights but I guess its too much to ask for in karachi under MQM.

If altaf Hussain still believes its 90s he is mistaken, it's because of mqms behaviour (sadly) that we have taleban in karachi now. If he resorts to bloodshed the whole city will erupt. This is turning to be PMLNs governments first crisis.

I think operations like that are not really necessary. There are other ways, such as cleansing administrative departments such as police, law enforcement agencises and so on, which are stuffed by MQM Goondhas.
The process is gradual but it will surely be much more effective.
