Re: kapray
^ Hi, i too am a fashion designer/fabricator, could you post some pics of ya work.
Re: kapray
Some pakistani fashion designer showed her collection in Delhi and she said that the Indian market differs from the Pakistani one because Pakistanis like clothes with embroidery on the top only or on the bottom only while Indians like heavily worked clothes. If that's true i like the sound of pakistani clothes more than indian ones and it also shows in their celebrities and their costumes. Background dancers in bollywood stage shows wear the ugliest costumes that are way too flashy.
Re: kapray
Hmm I dunno iuf thas jus an indian thing coz all the unstitched embroidered kapra I seen here is quite tacky and ugly IMO. There’s kaam all over it, there’s no pattern, and there’s no contrast between salwar and duputta and kurta, it’s al the exact same kapra. Readymade stuff looks a lot better, they use beads and have creative, nice designs, rather than just cheap laas (lace I think
) glued onto the suit..
Re: kapray
im going to pakistan soon, would i be able to get suits like the one's in the pics sewn easily, or would i need to spend a lot of time and then find a good darzi?
Re: kapray
You want stuff like that, ure gonna need time/money/energy/patience to deal with getting kapra, finding a darzi, findingsomeone to do the work, finding pix to give htem an idea etc.. Jus buy ready-made its alot easier, saves time n sanity..
Re: kapray
:D
Re: kapray
I agree with Sara, it is more of a hassle to get clothes made then to buy the ready made. However, in ready made clothes you are limited to styles and sizes; ready-made clothes are also more expensive (especially if you choose designer clothes).
It really depends how much time you will be spending in Pakistan, because if you do want to get your clothes made by scratch, then you have to start shopping right away because the darzi can say that he won’t have your clothes ready in time if you bring stuff close to when you are leaving.
I suggest that if you do want to get suits made, then buy the suits that have all the kaam done on them, and you just need to take them to the darzi to get it sewn in your size. I got some beautiful joras (which were way cheaper than if I had bought ready made clothes), but splurged on a few designer ready-made pieces too, so I was happy at the end of it all.
Re: kapray
Don't purchase from bargelloshop.com. I had a horrible experience with them and do not want others to go through the same ordeal. Check out the thread "Custom Orders at Bargelloshop.com". Spread the word to your friends as well....

With all due respect, your website just offers the pictures from different designers. If i had to order from your website, I would like to see pictures of the designer's work replicated by you. Will you be able to post pics of your work?
Re: kapray
I dont think it is fair to the designers whose photos you have stolen from their websites or whatever, i think you should clearly state on your website that this is not your own work but you are making copies of designers work.
