As much as I dislike Chaudhry Shujaat, he tried very hard to solve the laal masjid crisis peacefully because he knew that even though his dictator Musharraf was senile, and this crisis would finish off his party (which happened in the feb elections).
The fact that he went to Shaukat Aziz (who shrugged him off by saying he was goin for kulfi with his wife) just shows how powerless he was, despite being the party head of the ruling political party.
