I would put emphasis on the word "MY" and hence say that in order to prove that "I care for your opinion" I actively seek YOUR opinion and ask you to voice it - because of who you are and what you represent - who you are as a person and what your position represents in the group of all possible opinions to me.

It has less to do with the content of the opinion and more to do with the person who voices it.

In effect and after the fact ... I would value that opinion by giving it full disclosure but I may not choose it because there may be other opinions that are equally important but just that tiddy much better to deal with the issue. Thanking the person when they give their opinion and having the decency to evaluate it.
