yeah I watched Ali azhmat’s interview a few days ago where he was talking about his solo album and he mentioned that fans were really hurt when Brian left and I was like hanh… he left, when 
they got some new dude on the guitar now.

yesterday I called up the show organizers like five times to confirm if junoon (the whole group Ali, salman, brian) was playing. the guy assured me they were. he said although they have broken up they will be coming together for the earthquake fundraiser. delighted, i headed off in the stabbing cold to see junoon with friends and got tickets. I again asked the ticket booth dude if they were gonna be here. it was 7 at that time and he said yeah they definitely will. Im like if they arent i will return my ticket. the guy is like "sure".
ok so he tells me they will show up around 8:30. we are lounging around BMCC campus getting bored when LUCKILY i see a friend who knows salman ahmed. he comes up and tells me that he spoke to salman and ali and brian wont be showing up..grrrrrrrr! i felt like punching the lights out of the president of bengali student's association. I went up to the booth and told him i want to return my ticket when the president of the begali club shows up and he's like 'ali azmat changed his mind" im like " i told u if they dont show up ill return the tickets" and he has the NERVE to say " oh but salman ahmed=junoon!"
he saw the MEAN look on my face though and returned my money because i was ready to claw his face off..... and to think that salman ahmed told my friend that Ali azmat wasnt even scheduled to show up.....!

^ I can totally relate to that. about 2 weeks ago we had Atif Aslam's concert here in TO, and before we bought the tickets we asked the organizers so many time if it was Atif's concert cuz his website didn't say anything about him visiting TO. and they repeatidly said "yes, he'll be there and the website wasn't updated" my friends and I didn't end up going cuz we decided to go to another eid dinner and later we found out that Atif Aslam didn't show up. He was never scheduled to be there, the bloody promotors lied all along.
shweets not all desis are the same but i won't trust these concert organizers for sure.

Neither have any organizer nor have I ever informed it was a Junoon concert taking place, then why on earth did you call up to confirm it was a Junoon concert? I would like to know the person’s name whom you accused of misleading you and hassling you like this. As you were buying the ticket and knew that absence of Ali Azmat and Brian O’Connell would make you not go to the show, it being a money matter you should have asked him for his name.
I cant figure out why did your friend spoke to Salmad Ahmad two minutes right before the show, and did not worry about your ticket cancellation? Next time when you go to a Junoon, or Junoon related concert, please make sure you talk to that friend first as he knows Salman Ahmad, and also let us know in the forum!
I am not here to fight, I just wanted to point out people do speak sh*t all the time but you have to, and I repeat, you HAVE TO deal with it. Can’t survive in this world by punching the lights out of people unless otherwise.

aliza....here's the deal. i actually got the flyer from Jackson heights from a guy and it clearly said "junoon concert" and showed all three members. no mention of just salman playing. i went online and saw mixed messages. they put up a message saying salman will be playing and they put one up saying junoon will. so i posted junoon after confirming with Bengali Assoc president.
The guy i spoke to was Shah kibria and his contact info was right there on the flyer.
yeah the same friend who knows salman ahmed called me (he knew him well enough to go to the concert and speak to him but not well enough to confirm in advance) and asked me whats the deal so both of us confirmed like 6 times with the BSA president that JUNOON was playing.....and when they said they'll return our tickets......it seemed believable...
