ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Pakistan’s deposed chief justice is visiting the widower of slain opposition leader Benazir Bhutto in his first excursion since being freed from house arrest. Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry was put under house arrest more than four months ago when President Pervez Musharraf purged the courts to avert legal challenges to his disputed re-election. Nazir Dhoki, a spokesman for Bhutto’s party, said Chaudhry arrived Thursday evening at the home of Bhutto’s widower, Asif Ali Zardari, to “express condolences.” Bhutto died in a suicide attack in December.
