The one and only achievement that I can give to Jimmy Carter is that, in four short years, he converted me into a registerred Republican.
My guess UTD is that I am at least a decade older than you and that you did not actually live through the Carter years as a poor, young adult who was 100% responsible for your own economic survival. I don’t look at the years of collecting empty soda pop bottles as a way of supplementing my income as part of the good old days. Carter’s 9 year energy program meant squat to me as I worried about buying enough groceries to last the week.
Our addiction and dependence upon foreign oil that was, in your opinion, aggravated by Reagan’s policies sure didn’t hurt the generation after me who prospered in the economic boom years presided over by Clinton now did they? Or did Clinton somehow solve that problem while I wasn’t paying attention?
