which 1 is the last one?
bleachers i think?
Ooooh, not even close. Bleachers is like 5 years old! It is also not a legal thriller and I wouldn't suggest it to readers who prefer his writing in the legal genre. His last book was The Appeal. I just finished reading it on a flight to Atlanta. Great book, very true to the writing style that made him so successful.
Anyway, reading Grisham's novels are not really any sort of exercise of great intellect. But he is a great writer and is sure beats the socks off of watching another lame reality TV show on MTV, yanno? I think they would be enjoyable to most audiences.
As a matter of fact, I have a story to share. There was a boy that I knew in high school who was not a bad fellow, but got mixed up in all kinds of bads things, namely drugs. As long as he knew me I always had a book in my hand and at that time John Grisham was my favorite. He used to tease me about being a bookworm and wondered how I breezed through his novels, sometimes within a day!
Anyway, we both graduated and I moved away to a different city but we would periodically keep in touch. He went MIA for like a year and all of the sudden popped back up. He told me that he had gone to jail for six or eight months for violating his probation or something. Anyway, to pass time in the slammer he read every single Grisham book and loved them. He said they were total page turners and really had him involved.
To this day I couldn't tell you what shocked me more, the fact that he was in jail or the the fact that he actually read so many books...
But, uh, you don't have to be a criminal to enjoy John Grisham's books :-)
