I don't really get it?
In my extended family the nikah is always done on the stage. The groom, the imam, the witnesses, groom & brides father's are all up there. Usually aaaall the bride&groom's close male friends/family also go on the stage and stand at the back/sides to see the nikkah and for the dua. After that they all congratulate the groom and let him and his family wait for the entrance of the bride.
Each to their own but I don't really get sitting on the floor near the stage and then shifting to the stage?
