The allegation about his father having been fired for corruption was floated by Sarfaraz Nawaz back in mid 2000s, when SN was in MQM, and Imran was going after the don # 1, Altaf Hussain. DOnt know where Sarfaraz got this rubbish info from, but it was picked up by PPP, and their ministers have repeated the same rubbish in talk shows, without rhyme or reason.
Imran’s father was a government servant back in the 50s, when Bhutto was nothing more than a tea boy for Gen. Sikandar Mirza. IKs father resigned from his PID job after disagreements with the then Khan of Qalat. In the early 60s, IKs father established Republic Engineering Company, which became one of the best engineering firms of Pakistan. He sold the firm in the 90s, and the firm is still functional.
So to say that IK didnt have the resources is wrong. Secondly, he had the talent as well. He went to prep school in UK, and then Oxford. Safe to say, he had far more talent and charisma than Sharif ever will. IK had modelling contracts, cricketing income, county income, and now, his lifestyle is funded by the significant amount of agricultural property he inherited. Why are his taxes not that high? Because agricultural income is not taxed at the federal level. Secondly, its not taxed at the same level as other income.
Listening to a drug dealer like Hanif Abbasi? You can do better thna that. But then again, apparently, even some of the saner minds in PMLN these days have fallen to the level of Abbasi and Daniyal Aziz. Even Ishaq Dar has become an a$$
