well....why dont i just present my 'honourable' comments right here???,,,,the movie sucked......they only focused on his romantic life and all....nothing about his political standpoint....no scenes contaning the important dates....all rati and him.....ugh....
ticked me off (even though i went in for free...had free food and all ;))
the movie was a good way of expressing pak side of the story about partition
Before we start slagging the movie and its featured events, lets just find out what it is was meant to be.
Having asked the writer, actors and a few MPs I think you may have caught the wrong idea of what the movie was supposed to achieve.
Akbar Ahmed's main objective was to present the personality oif the man that India has dubbed a stoodge and it had to show that he was not the power hungry and sadistic man that they show him to be.
The movie was aimed at NON-PAKISTANI audiences.
In that respect, it has achieved its purpose. The same purpose that Mustafa Akard's "Lion of the Desert" and "Message" achieved.
It served as an Introduction of Jinnah and the muslim point of view to an audience that has no where to look but the over dramatised Indian Versions.
Its a shame Pakistanis are having a problem seeing that aspect of its success.
