Also the guy might not have known he didn’t want to marry while she was spending her money, the promise could have been true, there’s no way to know that it wasn’t. And the woman herself might have had something to do with the guy backing out at the last moment, I’m sure he must’ve had his reasons. Why are you automatically assuming that the guy led her on?
