Re: Jhatka food
Lusi, if that was the case then we'd just all starve, becasue then nothing could be absolutely halal unless we had our very own backyard full of animals. Once someone says that its' halal, you should have no reason to doubt them.

Re: Jhatka food
Sara, I was talking in general. I know when someone says it is halal-zabiha, then we should trust them.
Re: Jhatka food
Okay, let me complete my response. Based on surah In’aam, I consider a slaughtered animal as halal if and only if ALLAH’s name has been prounounced at the time of slaughter. And that is the Aqeedah of Al Ahnaaf. Other school of thoughts may differ. I am not allowed to say if they are wrong but if I do it, I find it highly wrong. If others do it, then it’s between them and ALLAH and I stated my point of view :- )
Hope that helps in clearing up the confusion.
Re: Jhatka food
People who buy Jhatka meat, how are the cuts compared to the ones from halal meat places?
Re: Jhatka food
I hope by someone you mean, A Muslim; for the ruling I am aware of is based on the ahadeeth that instruct us to believe a Muslim if he/she says about the meat if it is halal or not.
Re: Jhatka food
How halal is the halal meat that is out there? Have you considered how badly the animals are treated? I'm no vegetarian, and try to eat zabeeha, but do occasionally eat non-zabeeha meat, but from people who have really studied I have heard that it is rare to find real halal meat out there considering how zabeeha slaughters are being done.. ie. with a tape recording of the kalma while machines slit the throats of chickens, and that cows are fed animal by-products.. halal is about both the treatment and the slaughter.. sometimes you gotta wonder if you are better off eating kosher..
Re: Jhatka food
I eat it...I didn't, but now do...Why should I make something Halal as Haram upon myself? That in itself is Haram...
However those that don't eat it, are doing what's called a Ta'wara...And that is staying away from dubious things and that is no less noble...
But let's get one thing clear...It is not Haram according to many people's beliefs, so calling it Haram is like saying that some Muslims are doing Haram deliberately...That is not so...
There is a difference of opinion, certainly, but definitely not Haram...
Hmmm...Deja vu?
Re: Jhatka food
It's haram and/or wrong that's as a Muslim we know but the thing is most of us who live in the States or any other foreign country do not cook or don't have a place near that sells 'Halal' meat. The point is that a Muslim would never, in my opinion, eat Jhatka food for fun. Some of us don't have a choice or the facility like others do. May Allah forgive us all for all the wrong doings. Ameen.
Re: Jhatka food
From my understanding, there have been some fatwas regarding this issues that allow Muslims to eat jhatka but me personally don't like to eat it. Everyone around me doesn't care much.
All I can say is it's on Allah to decide at the Day about what we did was wrong and what was not.
Re: Jhatka food
I can swear almost all people I've seen who eat jhatka food are out of shape in one way or another....Imagine a typical person sitting in McDonald's having chicken wings? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about! :D
Re: Jhatka food
McD’s doesnt’ serve chicken wings ![]()
Yah Anwar I meant if a Muslim etlls you the food is halal. I don’t know of any situation wehre a non-Muslim wud tell u if the food is halal or not ![]()
Re: Jhatka food
Haram eatables, not just meats 2:173-174
ANYTHING includes any eatables dedicated to other than Allah, be it a temple, god, goddess, idol, tomb, monastery, saint, pir, imam. Think of Koonda, Giarhween sharif, Bibi Fatima’s sharbat or sweets, Prashad of mandirs, Dargah ka charhawa, nazr niaz of Sufis etc.
Re: Jhatka food
Its a sad state of affairs when people come down to name calling to justify their sinful acts.
Sara516, anything that isn't slaughtered with the name of allah is haram. Even if you live in a place where halal meat in extinct, you can not eat haraam meat. I never questioned anybody's morals but I asked everyone what did they think of themselves when committing such a sin.
PS - if someone tells you the meat is Halaal then you should trust him/her because they will be punished by Allah on judgement day if they misled you.
Re: Jhatka food
u should think twice before swearing for no reason gurl.
u are assuming a majority of non-muslims are out of shape…
u r assuming a majority of muslims are in shape (including punjabi paa-jees)![]()
jhattka chicken is just as bad as american hormone infused milk and pakistan ki meat-fed chicken …
Re: Jhatka food
wow i am so proud of myself…i havent eaten Mcdonalds/BK for a year now.![]()
i eat jhattka chicken now and then (prefer organic)…and only question the calories init…![]()
i dont eat beef, pork regardless of haraam or halaal.
Re: Jhatka food
I’m not trying to justify my sins, i’m just sick of the holier-than-thou attitude people give regarding this topic. WHy do you care what other Muslims eat anyway ![]()
Re: Jhatka food
He cares because he is a Muslim. Sara with all due respect, as a Muslim i do care what other Muslims are doing. Since this is one of my responsibilities. I might be doing things wrong and upon asking other Muslims they might be able to correct me or I might be able to correct them. Its all for a single cause..
Maybe you should read the Hadith (if you believe in Sunna that is)
Book 032, Number 6261:
Nu'man b. Bashir reported that Muslims are like one body of a person; if the eye is sore, the whole body aches, and if the head aches, the whole body aches.
Now i knw you will say the same thing again, who the hell am i to tell you what to do .. i am NO ONE, just another person trying to be a good Muslim… struggling but trying and in this way asking others to help and helping others in whatever way i can.. I am not better than anyone but i am trying.. getting knowledge on what is right and wrong and trying to make sense of it all..
Re: Jhatka food
I bet I can top all y'all... since I don't believe in halaal meat and believe it is an innovation and fabrication done by our mullas, I eat all kinds of mean, of course no pork cuz the Quran specifically forbids that, but not only do I eat what people consider jhatka meat, but if I ever have a dinner party and there are all these asses who want halaal meat, I feed them jhatka too... HAHAHAHA!!! Poor buggers... as far as they're concerned, they didn't do anything wrong, I would be the one to be punished.
