It is often associated with Islam but really it has no significance in Islam, like the JW Christians we don't have any sacred symbols or icons, which we worship or use in worship, worship is a striaght forward connection with God, we don't need things which will distract us from Him.
Cresecent star, color green, minarets and domes have come to be associated with Islam but actually they have no meaning or sacredness in our religion, they are just a part of the culture of most of the regions where Islam is practiced.
