On the other hand, Arun Lal has much better command of english, but he mostly talks "trash".... too biased...
hahaha
its true that arun is biased and i dont even believe he has a better grasp of the english language, he might sound like it tho
i enjoy listening to sanjay, ravi, gavaskar, ramiz, the rest just embarass themselves and show the world how much they actually know
its kind of like the foreign TAs we have in university who cant speak english and try to explain theories and such to the class in english and everyone just cant believe how they get these positions.
I remember Waqar during England-Pakistan series where he says something like…There was definatly a nick…I could hear it in my y..ear… so funny.
They are good players with great insight about the game but I think because they are not use to speaking English or doing commentray…they make silly comments/ mistakes.
Dhobi bhai,
I remember very well that on the final day of the Karachi test that Arun Lal was bashing on Pak as being "scared" of the Indian batting. I also remember that Dean Jones along with Arun Lal blasting that Younis Khan and Pak team was scared of the Indian batting line up and they don't believe that they can defend 500+. I also very well remember the 4th ODI in Ahmedabad in 2005 when Arun Lal was in the box with Ramiz Raja and it was the last over and Inzi was the striker against Tendulkar. I remember Arun Lal saying:"How about 3 wickets in 3 balls? Let's be positive, Ramiz." So, instead of giving his insight independently, Arun Lal just shows his bias and he doesn't do a good job a commentator like Ramiz Raja or Ravi Shastri do.
srikkanth actually defined ambush marketing thus: "ambush marketing is something when i try to do something during the match itself or some such thing." and it actually appeared in the economic times here. here are some more srikkanthisms (from a mail i recieved today): apart from gems like "eddie murphy" ( for brian murphy ) and "ricky martin" ( for ricky ponting ), srikkanth also has mouthed other profound and deeply analytical & meaningful stuff like these.
HE makesa mistake every 2 minutes (Kevin Pietersen = Peter Kirsten, Blackwell = Black = Bell, Harmison = Hoggard, etc).
england players traditionally have been playing very** traditional cricket **:D
england players have a typical english like attitude, which is different than pakistani attitude :D :D :D
one needs to understand that test cricket is test cricket and one day cricket is one day cricket He should get these words patent :D
rameez, if zimbawe shock australia by scoring 275 runs, australia will shock zimbawe by scoring 276 runs :D
if sreesanth can bowl a little extra pace, it will make the ball come to the bat more faster
venkatesh prasad, dont get upset because i upset you, take it cool
as a captain not in a good form, saurav ganguly should realise that he should play well
the zimbabwe-england tie is** very important from india's point of view** because irrespective of the outcome there, india have to beat england.
