I have heard this many times do you know if this is supported by Quran and Hadith? to my understanding apart from shrik Allah forgives everything.
another thing not realted to this how people say Allah will judge or Allah knows who will go to jannah etc yes this is right but would it really be wrong to say if some one is drinking they are still a good person that is worthy of jannah ? what i mean to ask is does ALLAH love his practising servants more?
