It’s not about BIG
In 10 years time, please ponder about these:-
- It is not how big (grand) you hold your wedding!
10 years from now, most people will not ask you how grand your wedding celebration was, but they will ask you how your marriage with your spouse is and how many children you have.
- It is not how big you organize your children’s birthday parties!
10 years from now, your children will not ask you how grand their birthday parties were but they will ask you how often you cared or neglected them.
- It is not how big (much) you spend on decorating (renovating) your home!
10 years from now, your neighbors will not ask you how much you spent on your home but they will ask you how come you seem never at home.
- It is not how big you spend on your graduation day!
10 years from now, your fellow graduates will not ask you how much you spent on your graduation day but they will ask you what job you are doing now.
- It is not how big your donation to a charity is!
10 years from now, the charity you donated to will not ask you how much you had donated but they will ask you if you can do it again.
- It is not how big the gifts you give your wife!
10 years from now, your wife will not ask you how much you had spent on her but she will ask you how much “quality” time you spend with her.
- It is not how big your car was!
10 years from now, you colleagues will not ask you how big and powerful your car was but they will ask you “are you still keeping that old junk”!
- It is not how big (a sacrifice) you made!
10 years from now, your boss will not ask how big a sacrifice you had made for the company but your boss will worry about how much you will cost him (pension, medical benefits etc)..!
- It is not how big your sins were!
10 years from now, you will not ask yourself how big your sins were, but rather this- have I REPENTED yet? (inshaallah)
- It is not how big (the amount and/or the time) you spend on ALLAH!
In life hereafter, Allah will not ask or look at the amount (quantity) you spent or how big (important) a person you were but Ta’ala will ask your true niyyah (intention)… Was everything that you did… for Allah?
Dear brothers and sisters, Allah loves the Ibadah [worship] of the servants even if it is “little” but everlasting with a “dash” of sincerity…so the question is not on quantity but the quality. Islam’s emphasis on quality is understandable as we are the best ummah so before you decide to proceed on anything, please bear this in mind…“it’s not about BIG!”…
