Israeli troops backed by tanks and helicopter gunships have been engaged in fierce battles against suspected Palestinian militants in central Gaza.
Palestinians said 14 people - including an eight-year-old boy - were killed.
Sunday’s raids saw dozens of Israeli armoured vehicles - backed by Apache helicopters - move into the camps under cover of darkness.
There were no Israeli casualties reported, and the army has now withdrawn.
Ten of the Palestinians killed were allegedly militants
The other four were children under the age of 16. Palestinian doctors said more than 50 people had been wounded.
Condemnation
“It’s a big massacre today against our people. We call on the whole world to condemn it,” said the governor of central Gaza, Abdallah Abu Samhadama.
Palestinian Cabinet minister Saeb Erekat also hit out at Sunday’s raid.
“At a time when they’re speaking about withdrawing from Gaza, they’re destroying Gaza,” Mr Erekat said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s plan to evacuate Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip.
The Terror and bloodthirsty killings of the Israelis is never condemned outright by there allies the West especially the Amerikkans who always give them a green light in these situations and afterwards give a token slap on the wrist!
As for the muslims they can condemn israel how many times they like the situation will only be solved one way either the israelis are defeated and eradicated from this land or the palestinians and the muslims surround this land are removed totally. I know over time which one will be victorious israel is living on borrowed time similar to the arab despotic regimes

This raid came one day after Palestinian militants mounted an attacked at the Erez Crossing on the Israel-Gaza border, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for that botched attack. 9 Hamas member were killed as well as another militant in today’s raid. Israel is making plans on handing over Gaza and attacks on israel have been stepped up, before they leave they’re going to make sure the trash is taken out. Children dying in any war related incident is tragic and should not be acceptable, more pin point attacks against these terrorist should be carried out to eliminate the civilian causalities.

You must be right.
After all an occupation army that has slaughtered close to 500 Palestinian children in the last few years cannot be called terrorists. Even when some of it's soldiers state that they **refuse to take part in... attacks on civilian population centers... refuse to continue to harm innocent civilians. **
These people cannot be called terrorists, but worse - they are Nazi-style war criminals.
Yes it is terribly sad that more Palestinian children will die in Gaza.
What makes this situation so mind-blowing is the following:
The Palestinians want the Israelis out of Gaza.
The Israelis have said they will vacate Gaza.
One would think, "great, end of story. Both sides get what they want."
Not in that quagmire. The Palestinian terrorists don't want the Israelis out of Gaza so much as they want the "glory" of "forcing the Israelis out of Gaza." For them, it must "appear" as if they have made the Israelis leave. So they increase their terror actions to create this "perception." The Israelis don't like this "perception" and want it to "appear" as if leaving Gaza is their choice. So, instead of ending up with the result that both want (Israel out of Gaza and no more killings there), we get the opposite. Both sides increase the violence and the occupation gains steam.
Only in the Middle East could such irrational behaviour be deemed so rational. Meanwhile, more innocents die providing news stories for proponents of each side to use as fodder for their beloved warriors.
we are forgetting here, that, in the western-dominated world, it only counts as "terrorism" if muslims have done it. Just remember that amerikans see it like this: an israeli soldier is a commando; an amerikan soldier is a "freedom fighter"; a muslim solder is a terrorist.

Yes, Israeli commandos that have killed close to 500 Palestinian children in the last few years, and American "freedom fighters" that have killed over 10,000 Iraqi innocents in the last year.
