If that trio is sincere in their efforts, in real election the fight with PPP would be neck to neck. Any party will emerge as strong opposition. Perhaps that would be good for the country due to checks and balances.
I don't see a wide support for this alliance. Sharif has his support in Punjab and he will be counting on it coming this election, but MMA lately has lost its touch in NWFP. I have read some where that the Islamists are running around 4% in Pakistan when it comes to support.
Moreover, Imran has not earned any points with his so many campaigns against Mushrrraf and MQM. Lately, he said that he will make public the corruption charges aganist Benazir by Oct 18 with documentary proof. Did not see that happen either.
