I don’t think this party is really islamic as the media claiming.

every interview i seen and report i read al nahdha party clearly said they secular and not one interview where they said they will implement islamic laws.

Unless i mistaken and misinformed, i don’t think much difference between AKP in Turkey and these AL nahdha party.

They won the election by getting 90 out of 217 seats (41%) , more than any other party. They still don’t have the majority in parliament that would be needed to pass laws on their own without support from other parties, and no other parties in Tunisia will support islamic laws.

Therefore, An Nahda is not in a position to be able to able to implement islamic laws. What they can do, by being the government, is prevent any anti-islamic laws being enacted or enforced as the Ben Ali and Bourguiba governments previously did in Tunisia’s history.
