Security forces launch operation to break up sit-in at Islamabad’s Faizabad Interchange
Islamabad police, with the help of Frontier Corps personnel and other law enforcement agencies, have launched a crackdown against protesters who had been blocking the Faizabad interchange since November 8 after the last of a long series of deadlines lapsed without response from the agitating parties.
Police have surrounded the protesters from all sides and are firing teargas shells and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters. In response, the protesters are throwing stones at the security forces.
