yeah islamabad is cool , i spend around 7 years of my life there before coming to Australia and man i miss every sigle bit off hit.
specially,
Munchies,
OPF girls college (coz it was right in front of my house) ;)
Pir Suhawah ( cant forget when we hit our car there and didnt fall off)
bla bla bla
my husband is from islamabad...when i went last went to isb, we stayed with his parents...some was right.....there is no life in that city..too boring for the young pple..not much really to do (just goign to super, jinnah super and hang out)...but still it is a beautiful city and clean....by the way, what sector are u from in isb...my hubby used to live in G9/4...we're in mississauga now....
G-9/4 is highly populated area with Afghans and due to small and nerrow streets it does not give the right feeling. But the other areas are really gr8. I heard they have build a nice restaurent on Pir Suhawah and the road is wider then before. Also there is project to run chairlift upto Pir shuhawah. Wish there would have been a pic of Rawal Dam( green wood side ) and Shah-dara. Which is really nice place.
well sorry for not living in the F- sector...what exactly is the "right feeling"? and i was talking about the whole city being boring..not that one sector... i used to live in I8/4...and its the same feeling there...boredom!!!..even though it is a bit crowdy and dirty, what part of pakistan isnt? isnt that the "right feeling" of pakistan anyways????? but the food was good...me and my hubby used to go that nazir juice house every night for some chicken burgers..yummy!
Right feeling means that it looks very crowded and you feel like that it is not Islamabad but a part of another city placed their. Again I -8/4 is newly built area and their is no life there no even a nice market to buy things. The only live areas in islamabad are Blue area, F-10 Markaz, G-9 Markaz, Junnah Market and super market areas where you find some what intresting.
I miss Munchies in Super and Karim's Samoosa in pindi.
Bookworm, you got to be a true Islamabadi to know about munchies and Karim samosas in Pindi.
mfs555, nothing wrong with living in G-9/4, I loved the afghani at peshawar mor and I have had a few juice glasses at Karims, and then the original sufi restaurant is also at peshawar mor. And the reason it is dirty is because it is crowded and because of the suzuki stand.
And bookworm, I-8/4 has changed, it has a pretty good crowd now, although most of the people living there are not the old Islamabadis.
You are right about faizabad, I was infact commenting on the whole I-8 area. Again I dont normally go there as it is kind of out of the way, same goes for E-7.
btw the most posh sectors are of F-10, F-11, I-8, I-9, I-10 and E-7. Others have small houses, narrow streets or are either allocated to Govt. employees.
