Almost every Psychotic rants about religion. They also rant about sexuality, their mothers, the people that are after them, as well as the CIA, spies in the walls, and movie actors with whom they have relationships. This kid may have been a Christian but he is clearly Mad. If a lone Muslim gunman with an extensive mental health history kills a bunch of people (like the beltway sniper), and invokes Islam in the attack, generally people are smart enough to understand that the insane can pick up on larger themes (like this kid did with columbine) and incorporate these themes in their psychosis. The Beltway sniper was Muslim, but it was brought up as an afterthought by most analysts.
If John Muhammed had extensive contacts with overseas Jihadis, the picture would change, but the public is generally aware enough that Madmen for centuries have ranted about religion. The cause of this tragedy was screwed up chemicals in a screwed up brain.
Now stop playing the victim.
Unforumate, I dont think most people share your optimism in regards to the collective wisdom of the American people... Its wasnt long ago that they were attacking Sikhs and even Hindu temples, confusing them for Muslims and their places of worship...

In July 1938, Nazi Germany opened it's first concentration camp for "preventive custody" of it's minorities who were seen as a war time threat of corroborating with the enemy. As in Germany, in today's America, old facilities, such as this railway repair facility in Indiana (see video at video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8272096722231303649) are being converted into concentration camps. In January 2006, the Army Corps of Engineers awarded Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root a $385 million contract to construct such detention centers, which will be used to detain political activists, subverts, protesters and Muslims indefinitely without trail.
My advice for American Muslims is to relocate into Europe, which is more liberal and accepting than the US. If the US seems like a better choice economically today, remember that the US cannot sustain it's present standard of living much longer (which is what the present wars are really about). US economy is heavily dependent on cheap oil, low taxes and low interest rates. Oil is becoming increasingly more scarce and expensive. US federal debt is at $8.89 trillion, piling at a rate of almost $2 billion daily, and sooner or later, taxes will have to be raised. Interest rate is tied to the treasury bills rate. As the federal debt becomes harder to finance, treasury rate is hiked to attract investors, which raises the general interest rate within the US. Also, euro is posing an increasing threat to the dollar hegemony established since the OPEC's decision to trade oil for dollar back in the 1970's.
Today you can get out with your money. Tomorrow you will be begging to let out even without your possessions. Consider the following countries with given Muslim demographics:
Albania 70% - Bosnia 60% - Macedonia 30% - Russia 19% - Serbia & Montenegro 19% - Bulgaria 12.2% - France 10% - Netherlands 5.4% - Germany 3.7% - Belgium 3.6% - Liechtenstein 3.4% - Switzerland 3.1% - Sweden 3.1% - Croatia 3% - Denmark 3% - Italy 2.4% - Austria 2.2% - Slovenia 1.6% - Spain 1.2% - Malta 1.1% - Luxembourg 1.1% - Norway 1% - Romania 1%.
Avoid UK altogether. There seems to be some Islamophobia in Poland, Ukraine and more recently in Moldova. France and Germany are expensive.

To date, an estimated 628,000 websites, 3,000 books and a few lawsuits have been devoted to 9/11 conspiracy theories. 9/11 was the "new Pearl Harbor" needed to restart a new American century (see PNAC).
