Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
The purpose of this thread is so-obviously to make a point about redundancy. Those who didn't get the point are still arguing about haraam and halaal. I am sure, with time, everyone will become more enlightened.
Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
To Amber11
We are living in the 21st century, so what great thing islam did (or supposedly did) in the 7th century is unimportant now. If islam gave equal rights to women 1400 years ago then why are the muslim women in this sorry state?
To iconoclast and hareem01
Instead of calling names why don't you argue on the basis of today's reality? What use is an idealised version of islam that did not, does not and cannot exist?
The best source of information about islam is one who has suffered under islam. Unfortunately these people have to keep their identities secret for fear of repression by the muslim society. Anyone who has suffered under islam's manipulations and totalitarian claims is an expert on islam. In fact this is true for all religions and ideologies respectively.
Basically it is wrong to say that final complete guidance was given in the 7th century. An ideology that enforces such claims ends up becoming a nuisance and as an obstacle towards building an honest relaxed society. The muslim is incapable of being honest about islam and its deficits because he has been indoctrinated to praise islam or end up in eternal hell. This is manipulation based on fear and suppression of honesty.
You calling someone a troll etc. means you are admitting that you have no cogent arguments. You have only indoctrination, bribery or intimidation.
Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
.
Make ur thoughts and life pure then everything is halal.
lolz, your statement reminded me of a guy in my class who used to claim that he watches immoral movies with his father, but when asked about the reason, he said, "You see my heart is clean and thoughts are pure. Please don't put a judgement on my intentions. I don't look at those naked women with bad intentions"
I entered a person's room which was filled with very very bad posters. I was shocked and disturbed. When I asked him angrily about the reason he said " Hey, my thoughts are pure, I look at these women and these poses as an art."
I told him to make his own pictures without clothes and put them on the wall as an art.
Chintu bhai, what makes thoughts and life pure is "relative" and depends upon the person's beliefs.
Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
According to my 1st grade somali muslim students, muslims are not born in pakistan and/or muslims are not pakistani, so I guess it doesn't matter what we wear :D
Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
U know you can vent out all you want to ..I donot think that talking about women's clothes has anything to do with the above mentioned crimes commited by men of all religion /race and sects. Extremism in any form is never facilitated by real core values of Islam.Though it is different , if people hide behind different religions in order to satisfy their own perverted mindsets, now thats waayyyy different. You yourself are trying to blame something that is not just religiously bound.
Islam is the only religion that gave WOMEN, YEs WOMEN...equality in the eyes of God...gave right to property and wat not.No other major religion did that except for the CULTUREs that now have awakened to try to surpass ISLAM , in all these aspects.SO you know WOMEN r not Orgasm-giving creatures according To ISLAM.
To me ...there are hell lot of more things to work on rather then talking about wat to wear most important of them are following the 5 pillars of ISLAM:)
(Emphasis in your quote is mine) Equility as in having same number of male and female witness in court of law is also part of the package or not?
Is it possible that this is the reason for women being labelled naqis ul aqal in Pakistan?
BTW interesting debate going on the subject in another thread.
Re: Is wearing Shalwar and kameez haraam for girls ?
Iconoclast- Its not funny, Its pathetic
Amber11 - I hope you are not eleven year old. It is Actually those ‘guys’ who express more concern about issues which are otherwise None of their business. In simple words who want to tell to women what is appropriate for them, as if they(women) cant figure it out, themsselves
Cutesmile- you read the question perfectly right. Just like any other dress shalwar kameez is a cultural dress. Even If you are wearing it for ages, still it may not confirm to Islamic guidelines… something which a popular culture promote as good may not necessarily be in conformity with religion ?
Here I say :
‘Shalwaar kameez can very well be an indecent and unislamic dress’
See if 80 % of the muslim girls on this forum wear this dress, does it make islamic. No !
So then what makes any dress islamically permissible or otherwise.
It is very simple, It has to be modest and not revealing. End ot story.
It is a useless question to ask whether XYZ dress is islamic or not. Those who know the guidelines and want to follow, will follow it no matter which dress it is. Those who dont bother, wont care.
