Is this wrong?

Re: Is this wrong?

Peace Rasmalaii

This has been debated here before. The conclusion is that there is no direct reference to music, but there is reference to:

a) Adopting religious rites of people of other religions
b) Doing things to waste time
c) That instruments are classed in the same category as some other things all which are haram
d) That vain talk is classed as singing with music about pointless things

Generally anything that can distract from the remembrance of God.

Also there is another important thing to note that the general ruling on music is that it is haram but in some cases some instruments can be used in the case of Nasheed and Qasidah.

You may not find many narrations on this as it was something that was not done anyway ... It is like asking for a reference on whether we are allowed to smack ones father on the head with a slipper, there will be no direct reference for this in the Sunnah, but we know that this is not allowed.
