Indeed it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed it is We who will preserve it.
The Quran was revealed in a culture where Arabic was a spoken language. It did not even have its own script and had to be written in NABATAEAN... there have been numerous conspiracies by those in power and those who wanted to destroy this book in over 14 centuries.
And against all odds, IT HAS SURVIVED AS IT WAS REVEALED.
The book of God is bisymetric, with numerical codes at various places and with content that repeats an idea from several vintage points; so the message gets across no matter what! How do you alter a book like this? There's no (and pardon the expression) frikk'n way to do that!
With that said, the message will remain intact no matter who does what!
