Are you drawing a parallel between Slumdog and this film? Slumdog was a commercial hit. This is a short 40 min documentary. Sharmeen probably was only able to recover the production cost, if even that.

Imagine the amount of money (or resources) you need to help eliminate the honour killing in a country like Pakistan.** We Pakistani have become so sick minded that honour killing disease has even seeped into UK amongst our community.

To quote Sharmeen herself - honour killings are happening largely because they are no convictions, people simply don’t get punished. What exactly is stopping Pakistan to effectively practice the existing laws which sees honour killing as murder?

If there is justice in Pakistan, the crime rate from top to bottom will significantly reduce, not that people will stop committing the crimes all together (well majority of them will).
