There are pressures on the govt to enact laws for the protection of women, I just read somewhere that Punjab had enacted laws against women abuse. Angelina, Clooney, and many other celebrities have taken up causes to help humanity. Movies change public opinions and foreign policies. There was a lot of foreigners involved in curbing child bonded labor. I am sure that conditions of foreign aid come with pressures to improve human rights.

So you think the agenda is to seek Western lobby’s attention as opposed to the popular rhetoric that she’s doing it to ‘highlight’ the issue for home audience. Okay fine. Now mind explaining how many Hollywood celebrities have flocked to Pakistan to save humanity based on her first film which was released in 2012? How many convictions over acid attack have taken place in Pakistan since her film came out?

It’s so nauseating to expect Pakistanis to feel oh so proud of her Oscar when 99.09% haven’t even seen her films, and vast majority of them will probably never have access to it. Like it or not, the author has made a fine point in the first couple of paragraphs.
