Re: Is rejecting the religion of one’s Parents a Sunnah?
Only in matters of religion. We practice the religion he practiced, not rejected. Interesting how you would simply reject the obvious.
The Prophet also lived in a desert, yet is is not obligatory on Muslims to do the same.
What is considered Sunah is that what is prescribed by the Prophet (pbuh) in Hadith. Thus, if the prophet (pbuh) mentioned that fasting on such-and-such day is a good thing, then it is sunnah.
Following the religion of our parents is not at all recommended if the religion is not Islam.
