Apart from some of the reasons listed above, here is another take on it.
If you think about it mathematically, time does move faster as you grow older. When we were young, summer break seemed to last forever. That is because when you were 9, 10, or 11 years old 2-3 months of summer break would be a larger proportion of your entire life. Whereas now, days, months, and years, are all a smaller proprotion of your entire life.
I still haven’t figured out though why time moves slower at the beach. It’s like one hour on the beach feels like 4 normal hours
mathematically speaking, time doesn’t move at all…
but you’ve provided an excellent reasoning here as to why it appears to fly by as we get older. I always wanted to put this theory into words but never had the time .
