Is it patriarchy, or feminism, or sexism or what?

Re: Is it patriarchy, or feminism, or sexism or what?

I wish!!! So not the case in North American work environments!!!

Women tend to get paid less than their male colleagues because they are too timid or uncomfortable demanding equal pay. Men are much better at negotiating for higher salaries and advancement opportunities.

As for work hours - that depends on an individual’s level/function in an organization as opposed to their gender. In my old office, both the men and women left work at the same time (between 4 and 4:30pm) and both genders would leave at that time due to family commitments for picking up kids/after school activities. The people who worked later did so because their role (and the associated compensation) had an implied expectation that they would be working later.

It’s actually laughable the idea that women might get paid more for less time in North America - I wish!!! Things may be different in PK and India - but that’s definitely not the case over here.
