Re: Is Indian culture invading Pakistan?

How different are Pakistani and Indian cultures? I guess not much, considering how 'average' people live, work and entertain themselves in both countries.

What Indian and Pakistani culture?

Its western culture which is taking all over.

Using Bollywood as an example, its more western than eastern nowadays thats for sure.

Re: Is Indian culture invading Pakistan?

Re: Is Indian culture invading Pakistan?

Oy pappe, Ehsan is Muslim. i actually like their trio. each is from different religion and region but still working together. so Indian!

Re: Is Indian culture invading Pakistan?

Is there something called Pak culture? There is nothing like that. Its the new form of `indian culture' only.

Exactly !! That was my point - its a Hindu/Muslim/Christian music director trio that rules the roost in Bollywood.

However, on second thoughts I should have mentioned Pritam since he is the most successful music director of Bollywood.

Re: Is Indian culture invading Pakistan?

I like the enthusiasm of some guys here... they would dig real deep just to make some outrageous comments.

Good luck tiding up then.

Actually this debate is interesting. And we do need to sit and think about Pakistani culture, having deep roots both in patriotism and religion. Here I don't mean the religion that unfortunately for majority of Pakistani Muslims become now i.e. only about praying, fighting, protesting and burning their own shops over some nonsensical cartoons/provocations etc.

We have forgotten the real teachings of Islam: Love and respect for each other, generosity, cleanliness, honesty in every walk of life, hardworking, getting knowledge, thanking Almighty always for what He has given us, keeping your country/neighborhood first and so on and on..

Thread is too long to be read in one sitting. May be someone can summarize some good ideas about how we can polish our culture and give it the due respect that it deserves. A culture that is based on Iqbal's dream is the culture that others will copy from us!

P.S. Lets just ignore what some indians are spitting on this thread and concentrate on our task..

There is no such thing as Indian culture or Pakistani culture.

Pakistan and India are home to many different cultures, not just one pan-Indian or pan-Pakistani culture.

Punjabi and Urdudan/Hindi culture is shared by both countries, always was and always will be whereas there's other cultures such as Tamil and Pashtun etc. which the two countries do not have in common.
