Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
I think after Inzi retires, Younis should become the Captain and the PCB should appoint Afridi the vice captain. I think some responsibility will help Afridi's maturation process.
Agree/Disagree?
Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
Flintoff will retain the England Captaincy for his agressive style. And i totally agree with u with Afridi. In fact i would put him as captain before Younis becuase the game these days is about Aggressive field placings and constant improvisations about the placings. Inzamam lacks this and with Younis already advising him. I see Younis as a puppy and similiar captain to Inzy. Afridi would be my next choice captain . Other teams would fear a team led by Afridi much more than they do now!!!!
Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
lol,
we would see alot of swearing and abuse, especially of indian players! (pakis cant really swear in english, thank god for that!)
i dont think irfan pathan would play against a team lead by afridi!!

Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
Yeah he will grow up when he retires.
Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
get your facts right..afridi inconsistent?...Afridis' test batting average is 39 which is higher than that of Razzaq :29 and Akmal :31...and given the rate at which he gets his runs I would say thats a pretty good average. He is a much better batsman in test cricket than people give him credit for.He is 29 or 30 already I think..he is not 26 as pcb hides his real age..and he has matured as a cricketer in the last couple of years quite a bit...the problem was the way he was being treated by Pcb in the past,a player of his potential should not have been left out of test cricket for so long. They
Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
Afridi is the most incorrectly used player that I can think of. All these years he has spent in the cricket, he has helped and won games for the country. Whenever we use and give him the right opportunity, he wins the game for us within overs. Just look at his performance in Australia, India and West Indies. He played in so many positions, overall his record was simply magnificent. In ODI’s he plays very well as an opener but it seems that whenever he gets out early we switch him to lower place, which makes no sense.
Afridi is a great assest to the team and what he brings to the table with his all-round effort and as a teammate is very admirable. I love Afridi and his courage, he is not immature, no one can play his style of cricket. He is unique, you can’t put him to the class of world’s best but his energy and vibe is un-mistakeble. I think he is transforming himself from a slogger to a clean hitter of the ball, just watch some of sixes in Test and ODI against West Indies, England and India. 102 on 45 balls, do you call it slogging or great hitting? 92 against England in Test, great hitting or what? 122 against West Indies, what an inngs…This guy is the best and there is nobody like him - period.

Re: Is Afridi ever gonna grow up?
Agreed 100%
What do you think of him being a vice captain or captain?
BTW, there is no reason for the PCB to hide his real age. I believe he 26
