RIP. I think it's wrong to hate on her now that she has passed away. I think it's below the belt. And comparing her to Saddam? Really? She didn't go around massacring people. I'm far from a right wing mentalist and certainly don't agree with some of the policies she enacted. Labour > Cons
In fact, some of her economic policies were good in theory such as privatisation. (I'm a firm believer in the government having little too no input in industry/business). I suppose she rushed her policies in particular the sale of national assets and turning the highly profitable steal industry into a laughing stock overnight. I think her major problem was the fact she did not take advise, she did what she felt/believed.
And of course the loss of 200,000 jobs in the mining industry.
I suppose what she imagined would happen didn't in fact take place. Leading to her downfall. I bet you if she pulled it off she would be rated as the best prime minister after Churchill unanimously.
In my opinion, leaving religious beliefs aside (since they can vary) it is perfectly OK to criticize someone even after they die. If she said the above about Mandela, she was not a good human being. All I know about her are she was significantly Right of Center and anti-labor. So in my view, she and Reagan did a lot to stem progress.
