Partly because the opening bowler who was bowling quite well had to go off due to cramps.

There is still hope. Zimbabwe might beat Ireland
We need to win our games. If we cannot even beat Zim, UAE and Ireland then we do not deserve to be in the QFs
And who knows we might beat SA (if their performance against India vs ours against the same team is any measure; I know it doesn't always work like that as SA is a much superior team than us)

Ireland's RRR was > 8.5 at that stage with 6 wickets remaining. So UAE clearly had a chance of winning
