Iraqi university students riot
From correspondents in Baquba
December 23, 2003
IRAQI students at Diyala University outside Baquba, 60 kilometres north-east of Baghdad, rioted overnight when US soldiers visited the campus to play a game of basketball, witnesses said.
The soldiers, from the 4th Infantry Division posted around Baquba, the capital of Diyala province, had been invited to play a friendly match with students.
But some 200 people, angered by the US presence, started to demonstrate, said university spokesman Qusay Abdul Khaleq.
If the message get lost your not wanted in Iraq has’nt sunk into the heads of occupying Amerikkans yet then this incident at a basketball game should make it clear enough!

What part of invited is difficult to understand? Apparently some wanted them there.

Apparently the riots prooved that statement wrong! And if you trying to tell us the GI Joes are being welcomed as donald "the duck" rumsfield would like to imagine with flowers then you dreaming!
Prolly they rioted cos the native iraqi students couldnt play or score agaisnt their american counterparts in a one of the most popular sports in Amreeka :D
Journalism at best, the article states "Iraqis" - a little too general, no?
If me and a few friends start peeing infront of an X embassy, is it fair to say "Pakistanis" are protesting X country's policies, or is it fair to say just me and my friends are?
AK47, yes they were invited, and yes some Iraqis dislike American intervention. Because a few losers riot and make news, you're going to assume every Iraqi dislikes the intervention? Common, be mature!
Frankly rioting and looting your OWN COUNTRY doesnt do you much good. They couldve displayed their intentions and anger in better ways. But point taken nonetheless.
