Iran cancels Pakistan gas pipeline loan

Re: Iran cancels Pakistan gas pipeline loan

Iranian gas would be cheaper, no doubt as it is 70-80 % of crude oil but not in the range of 10-15 Rs per unit. The IPPs running on HSD are producing power at the rate of over 20 rupees per unit. I wonder what capacity is being produced by diesel only.

More, power generation with coal source was registered at Rs3.61/unit, while Rs23/unit with high-speed diesel (HSD), with furnace oil Rs16.95/unit, with natural gas Rs 4.91/unit and Rs1.31/unit with nuclear source of the power generation. Similarly, **power generation cost of imported Iranian power remained at Rs10.55/unit

**According to this link, only around 500 MW of Wapda’s generated electricity is through HSD. The complete details of the IPP plants need to be evaluated as well.
