Iran is not in a MAD position, and won’t be without serious effort. Their army is not effective; it’s split into two. It’s a great structure to ensure the army won’t meddle in politics, but their performance during the Iran-Iraq war was just plain poor.
Lobbing missiles is meaningless…unless they’re nuclear tipped. And I’m talking mega-ton, not kilo-ton tactical nukes. Iran is not there.
Any American response would be devastating.
Without credible nuclear or conventional deterrent, all Iran will mange to do is bring out an even more vicious response from Americans…think Roman.
