got the new 4s, updated the ipad2 on the new iOS, updated by 3gs as well, but that is serving as an iPod touch now.
wondering if that can work as a prepaid phone for when the parents visit

^ get it unlocked and it should work as a prepaid phone. that is what i did to my 3g before i gave it away as a gift.

Yeah. Word is, Untethered is also done, but being tested. They won’t say when they’ll release it.
By ‘They’ i mean those whom we do not refer to by name.

oh and btw, an irish hacker has enabled siri on his iphone 4! If thats the case, its not far that other iphone 4 users will have it too.

That would be sweet. All that leaves 4S with is a better GPU, Antenna, and Processor. I’m content with mine on those 3 points as it is. :k:

but there is a problem. Siri takes up way too much memory than iphone 4 can handle. So not sure how well its gonna work IFF its gonna work.

For those who already have io5, is it true than that you can sms over 3G/Wifi and not need a txting package?

Siri shouldn’t take up that much memory. Android phones have had that voice command thing on older models and they worked without any issues. This may be a little better technology but shouldn’t be much more taxing on the hardware. Although I have heard it uses some features in the A5 processor.
For picture taking the new camera app is what makes for better picture taking rather than the 3 extra mpx. That is available with the iOS so we should be all good.
