Re: Inviting people on dinner who think you aint a good cook.............i am freaked
Okkay so i am back with the promised update. We had the dinner yesterday.....it went okkaish even though i snapped at kids one or two times. I made achar gosht rather than karahi using the shan masala and added some flaked red chillies and green chillie paste to it in the end (the result was the other couple and me and my hsuband hardly ate it).-----> youngest kid mom i dont like it it has the red things in it but he cleaned his plate clean.
I made the stuffed bhindis mildly spiced but added lotsa whole green chillies to the masala.(they didnt even taste it)
I made biryani and served it with the green chutney. the same chutney i used with kebabs just that i didnt add dahi for kebabs and i served the chciken legs with nandos hot chillie suace. (the older kid looked at the chutney and said who eats this with a biryani that is crazy.....i snapped "then dont eat it" he shrugged and said then why did u cook it)
i also served the fried masala thing which was suggested by mirch but no body dared touch it.
the kids kept on commenting that the chicken legs were burned but kep on eating them. Their father kept on saying he prefers roti over naan and the mom kept on saying how good her biryani is. and the other couple kept on openly laughing at them all. i have left over bhindi and achar gost rest was all finished.
It wasnt as bad as i expected but yeah i am glad that i have done it and i dont have to invite them over again ever.

Wow..!!
You are a kind soul to say that it 'wasn't bad'.I cant even say that the kids lack manners because apparently neither one of the parents have 'em to begin with..!
Re: Inviting people on dinner who think you aint a good cook.............i am freaked
Wow brutal brutal people with no manners.
Next time, if you get stuck inviting them, just remember, don't make any veggies, and make all the meat items using Shaan masala. Sounds like they are the kind who like desi restaurant food and have zero health concerns (like some folks I know)
Re: Inviting people on dinner who think you aint a good cook.............i am freaked
inviting someone over dinner is a gesture of caring and goodwill, the invitees must take it as such and their focus must NOT be on the food but on the love and care with which the host has invited. NO?
How I wish this was the case everywhere. I have heard so many people complain about the food at weddings and when coming back from someone's house after dinner. It aggravates me to no end. So so rude.
