Biography: My name is Aisha Choudhry. I am originally from Lahore, Pakistan but I am presently living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I am 19 years old, turning 20 in September. Was born in London on 12th September 1988. Lived for roughly an year and then shifted to Kuwait where i stayed till grade 8. Due to the fact that Kuwait is a small country and there were no tertiary level institutes available for expatriates we decided to shift to Dubai. That was a turning point in my life. I have been in Dubai ever since and i love my city alot.
Education: I did my KG till Grade 6 in International School and College of Pakistan, Kuwait. My parents wanted me to know the Pakistani culture and make Pakistani friends and also know how to read and write Urdu that is why they put me in a Pakistani School. After doing Grade 6 i was shifted to the Gulf English School which is a British School following the IGCSE cambridge curriculum. I did my grade 7 and 8 from there and finally we moved to Dubai. My IGCSE was done from The Oxford School, Dubai and i did my A Levels from The Cambridge International School, Dubai.
Currently i am a Sophomore in American University in Dubai pursuing a degree in Information and Communication studies, double majoring in Radio/Television/Cinema and Journalism. Doing a minor in Business-Marketing Communications.
Family: I have two parents, mom and dad. We are 4 siblings. No grandparents from my dad side and only nano from my mom's side. I have one guy in my life and i love him alot. My partner, my soul mate :-)
Something about me: I have learnt 7 siparahs of the Quran. I read the Quran with the translation everyday after fajr. I like to take long walks around the lake near my house. I am a peace loving girl and a romantic at heart. No not the meaning of the word romantic that you people understand these days, romantic as in from the romanticism movement in the literature history. That sort of romantic, romantic as in being optimistic, happy. I love writing poetry, there is a deep connection between me and my subjects in my poetry. I can get inspirations out of anything, even movies. My recent poem is on the movie Kismat Konnection because it touched me.
**Things i like to do: **I like to read and write poetry and English and Urdu novels. I like reading funny punjabi mizah. I like listening to and making music. I like to play guitar and keyboard. In one point of my life i knew how to play abit of the flute but i dont think i can do remember how to do that anymore. I like riding bicycle everyday and i love it when the wind touches my face and i feel it. I like to watch movies and analysing them. Like i found soo many flaws in the plot line of the movie Kismat Konnection. I like to write academic papers because then i am allowed to be abit verbouse and i like verbousity. I am excellent with photoshop and illustrator and i love taking photographs. I have Canon D60 for that purpose and my own N82 is also not bad.
**Extracurricular: **Last fall i was the Secretary of the Pakistani Association of American University in Dubai (AUD) but this fall i am elected Vice President. Also, I am a features editor of the Desert Flyer, AUD's newspaper.
I helped choreograph spring's international night pakistani dances in my university and Pakistan was named best performance of the night and also the trophy for the best booth also went to Pakistan. I helped decorate that as well.
I am a member of the Pakistani Association of Dubai's Ladies Wing. I regularly attend their events along with my mom who is the Secretary of the PAD LW.
I am an active member of this Islamic summer camp Flowers of Jannah that has been running for the past 5 years now. I attended it regularly but as soon as i turned 18 i was too old to attend it so i became an assistant teacher giving lectures on Islam. My mom is a senior member in the PAD LW and as the summer camp is sponsored by the PAD LW she was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony this year. She has also been for the past 5 years giving cooking classes to the girls and i used to record my mom and then edit the videos together to make a DVD and show it at the class. However this year ARY generously decided to help me by giving me professional equipment and following my judgment in recording the cooking series of my mom.
I am great at writing, thinking, creativity flows through my veins and i am a great gal in general. This was my intro, even after this lengthy introduction if you guys need to know something then you are welcome to contact me ;)
