Tariqi Khan - Candle in the Dark

He is a legend in himself. Some 56 years and 364 days ago, he was born as a 9th child of 15 head family. His change of nick from Tariq khan to "Tariqikhan" (yes it is a capital "I" between Tariq and khan) is no simple coincidence. Later you will know why.
After failing his 3rd school grade for the 10th time, he decided to look for new challenges.
Instantly he was offered at least 3 different jobs - as an assistant to truck driver, chaukidaar and as a supervisor of Bhuttay ka Theela.
He decided to go for the first one.
However, after his second trip from Karachi to Bannu with his ustaad the truck driver, he realised this job was too dangerous for the teen age boys.
Unfortunately he learned it the hard way.
So he opted out and took the job as a night watchman in his Mohalla. He loved the darkness (hence the nick change to Tariqi Khan). With his Seeti (whistle) and his chota sa danda,he would go through the streets, chanting "hoooooshyaarrrrrr, khabardaaaaaaaarrrr". He loved his work, and it turned out just to be his dream job. (Whisteling in his dreams became a habit).
On job, he made many friends. Among some thieves, his best friend turned out to be one "Garam Aanda frosh" (Boiled egg seller, he also posts as "aliyish" on GS). In chilling winter nights, both of them would sing loudly while eating boiled eggs:
Sab jag soyeeee..., ham jaageiN aapas maiN kareiN baateiN, haaye thandiii raateiN
Now he was ready for the next phase of his life. There came the wife and kids (at the moment only 11).
His discovery of GS was accidental, while peeking through a window of one Mohalla boy, whose father has asked him to keep a tight eye on him at night for the fear of his random sneaks to neighbours. The boy was chating, posing as a girl. He promised him a cyber wife in return, if he would let him sneak few times.
Tariqi khan found hin33 this way, not knowing that the boy himself is posting as hin33.
He summarizes his life as:
Seeti ki tarha ..Bajta hi raha huN maiN kabhi is gali maiN... kabhi us gali maiN phirta hi raha huN maiN.
We all love Tariqi Khan for his witty tales and want to see him as a Cyber Chaukidaar of GS.
