Depends how you look at it. In my view he never was a religious person. Infact his poetry is so liberal at times that the main stream Mullahs have hardly quoted his poems. Or may be you are getting a religious impression by his name "Molana Jalaluddin" which has nothing to do with his poetry.
Maulana was his title not name.
Maulana Rumi was a sufi and an Islamic jurist.....quote something from Rumi that you think is 'liberal' and also define 'liberal? Do you mean it as raunchy or erotic? Bring it here for our discussion.
