internet relationships..

Re: internet relationships..

You must be really young? <18Years

You better stay out of there lest you would get hurt.

Re: internet relationships..

^

as i said 'it depends'.

Re: internet relationships..

There are only 3 reasons why anyone would pursue an internet only relationship:

  1. Too insecure to attempt such relationships in real life.
  2. The need for secrecy.
  3. Doesn't have a real life.

Re: internet relationships..

  1. too far

yes i know two married couples who met on the net, both gals and guys had real life and real friends…but for some reasons, sometimes your mind belongs somewhere else than where your body is, so the only way to reach that place mentally but not physically is the internet…sure the problem after is to unite these two people, but they made it! I mean one of these internet couple were a guy from Norway and a girl from Korea…and the others were two french, but one from the northwest and one from the southeast (so 1000km far)…

Re: internet relationships..

i know a couple who just got married and they met on the internet...but the majority of times internet relationships don't work out.

Re: internet relationships..

Well, skhan I disagree with you a bit.
I met my wife on Internet in 1996, we are married since 1997 and have one 7 years old kid, my wife is due with another kid in December, Alhamdulillah I don’t regret it for one day, I did not plan to marry from Internet, neither I was insecure, neither secerative and I had a life too. hehe

It just happened, my wife was new revert to Islam, so we just fall in Love, and please to the guppees who think you cannot fall in love on Internet (it may be exception) but it does happen.

I was one of those people, who was used to think why people always so excited about just typing and making friends without looking at them or rather then making friends in real life. I used to find it very strange, when one of the girl was used to keep coming and telling what the guy is saying on other end, for me it was just a joke.

Well, still I won’t advise people to go and start searching for partner’s in chats. Not a good idea. Not everyone can be lucky as I feel today!!!

And my wife was in US and I was in UK.

Re: internet relationships..

zafar2002, thats such a happy ending story... its making me cry. bless you. yes i have seen some convert muslim gals who blow my mind away. they really make an effort to understand islam.

Re: internet relationships..

 that’s exactly what people tells me usually thanx to you…but i have to say it is not hard…it’s so natural to be a muslim…

Re: internet relationships..

same with real life relationships..majority of times they don’t work out that is why friendship and true love are so precious…

Re: internet relationships..

i can see how one can become drawn to another over the net. You become drawn to their e-personality or their style of writing. It's an attraction based on an emotional and intellectual level as opposed to physical chemistry.

Someone on one of the above posts mentioned how girls are eagerly willing to jump into a net relationship...i think for the most part it is because our culture doesnt allow us to form relationships in "real life" therefore many girls seek to form relationships over the net because 1...it's safer and the chances of them getting caught is unlikely...2. because they are able to get that emotional satisfacation out of the relationship which is what girls are yearning for. They get to hear or read the "i love you's" they get to read the poems over the net etc. sounds corny yea...but for a lot of girls it isnt.

Anyway on a personal level i think net relationships form out of boredom....once u found something/someone else to occupy ur time in "real life"...the net relationship is over.

Re: internet relationships..

parissenoor, so you are a converted muslim. interesting. are you french? and i know what you mean by 'being muslim is so natural'. that is a sign that you actually tried to understand what islam really is all about. hope u continue this path...

angel eyes, yeah that was me in college... but i never wrote poems for anyone. irc was the medium of choice back then but was probably before ur time. damn i feel like an uncle saying this.

Re: internet relationships..

My two cents:
Relationship in the sense of love can begin almost anywhere. Internet is no exception.

Re: internet relationships..

how old are u?

Re: internet relationships..

true…love can begin even on the net as well…but can it last?

Re: internet relationships..

Like its never sure to last even though you knew eachother from the childhood, love one gets online is fraught with same uncertainities. Besides, love has a different meaning to all of us and we have fairly variable sense of responsibility towards it. Mortals as we are, we tend to take it for granted when it requires renewal.
