Re: Inter-sect marriages
Since this is a question about sects in religions....
My mother was Episcopalian and my father was Catholic when they married and both were ex-communicated (throw out) for marrying the other. They made the decision, much like you did to allow us to decide. My brother and I stayed Catholic's, my sister a Methodist.
My first husband was Sunni Muslim and I am Catholic :) when we had the children, we decided they should be raised as Muslim. When he passed and I married my current husband (Sunni Muslim), the children are still Muslim. Primarily because it was more important to my first husband that they be Muslim than it was to me that they be raised Catholic.
